CS 10-pounder Read-Parrott Shell
This unfired specimen has three pre-stamped rifling flanges in the wrought iron cup, which were designed to correspond to the cannon's rifling.  This was uncommon for the Confederate projectiles.  Note that there is a lathe dimple in the base.  The rebated section above the sabot is 3/4" wide and was cut into the shell to prevent excessive chipping of the base.
