| This high-band Read has excellent rifling from the twelve lands and grooves (left-hand twist) of the 3-inch Confederate rifle. Projectiles of this pattern are found in Atlanta Campaign sites. The two bourrelets on this variety are narrower than those typically found on Read projectiles. The pictured specimen was found at the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, a site relating to the Atlanta Campaign. This variety of Read projectile is rare. | ||||
