20-pounder Brooke Shell
This 20-pounder Brooke projectile variety is seldom seen.  It has the letter "D" stamped into the copper sabot.  Brooke projectiles are turned on a lather to the bore dimensions required.  Note that the lathe marks are clearly visible on the sabot.  There are five ratchets on the sabot, unlike the 10-pounder series. Also the letter "G" is found stamped on the sabot.  A good number of these projectiles have been recovered from the Atlanta Campaign.
