Also known as: Bormann fuse, metal time fuze.
| Class | Mechanical time fuze |
|---|---|
| Typical association | Spherical case shot |
| Material | Soft metal body with graduated powder channel |
| Setting | Time interval selected by exposing the fuze train at a graduation |
Use and classification
American manuals group the Bormann pattern with time-fuze systems for shell and spherical case ammunition. The fuze should be cataloged independently from the projectile in which it is installed, because the same projectile form may appear with another time-fuze system or a replacement plug.
