14-pounder James Pattern I "Tie-Ring"

The pictured specimen is a variant of the James Pattern I projectile.  It is commonly called a tie-ring James due to the visible ring in the base.  Note the small notches in the ribs best seen on the right view of the projectile.  These notches were for wire that was used to help keep the lead sabot attached.
